Location
Travelling to Whitstable by Car
The approach to Whitstable from the west is along the M2. Where the road divides at the turning for Canterbury, follow the A299 towards Ramsgate and Margate. After about 4 miles, take the turn off for Whitstable. Follow the slip road up to the second roundabout where you take the first exit down into the town.
Drive through the town following the main street until you find yourself passing the harbour on your left. Continue for 150m past the bowling alley (also on your left), and turn left just after the zebra crossing.
Follow the road, (Beach Walk), which turns right as you reach the sea wall. Drive to where the road ends in a cul-de-sac just past the front of The Hotel Continental.
Access to the house by car is now either along the pedestrianised promenade (ahead and to the left) or up the - also pedestrianised - Tarmac lane (ahead and slightly to the right), which is marked on the map below as a continuation of Beach Walk and is known locally as Lovers Walk.
Both routes to the house have barriers placed across them to prevent unauthorised access by vehicles. The barrier across Lovers Walk is immediately apparent at the start of the way up to the house. The barrier across the promenade is located after about 75m. If the barriers are locked, then please park in one of the public pay and display bays and walk down to the house (2 minutes) to collect the barrier key.
Otherwise carefully drive along the promenade past the grassy slope to your right, and Kiora is the first house. A parking bay for one car is available outside the house on the promenade. Additionally, there is a garage and drive accessible via Lovers Walk at the top of the slope.

Getting to Whitstable Using Public Transport
Arriving at Kiora in Whitstable via public transport is both convenient and scenic, offering a relaxed start to your stay.
Train From London to Whitstable
For those travelling by train, Whitstable is on a direct line from London Victoria and London St Pancras International (high speed). It usually takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes and passes through some pretty Kent countryside and coastal views. Once you arrive at Whitstable train station, you have the option of a short taxi ride (under 10 minutes) or a leisurely stroll which takes around 20 minutes to Kiora.
National Express from London Victoria to Whitstable
If you prefer buses, there is a National Express service from London Victoria Coach Station to Whitstable. The coach will take you to Whitstable Clapham Hill bus stop at the top of town. There is a local bus service that runs from the Long Reach bus stop (just across the road) into Whitstable. The closest bus stop to the Kiora holiday home is Beach Walk (only a five-minute walk from the accommodation). Alternatively, a taxi can pick you up from the Long Reach bus stop, which is around a 10-minute drive.
