Regatta - Whitstable’s first Regatta was held on 7th August 1792 between 26 boats from Whitstable and Faversham to test the boating skills of the local boatmen and sailors. A real sailing spectacle, oyster dredgers, schooners, barques and yachts alike are seen taking part in the annual event. Whitstable is filled with fairground rides, food & craft stalls plus there is usually an Air Display off Tankerton Slopes. The event ends with a spectacular firework display.
